Supermarkets
There are many good restaurants in the general area but if you fancy
something pretty close to the Villa we can recommend the following:
 Con Pou - This top class
Catalan restaurant in Vedreres serves excellent
paella, fish and meat dishes in very generous portions - the vino tinto de cassa isn’t bad either! To get there turn left out
of Residencial Puig Ventos to Vidreres. At the
first roundabout in Vidreres take the second
turning and Con Pou is on your right (ca.10 minute
drive).
Con Magi - Serves excellent set lunches at very
reasonable prices. Very Spanish and within easy distance from the Villa -
next door to Con Pou (10 minutes drive).
Strada - Once again in Vidreres this restaurant serves good straightforward food
particularly if you just want a relaxed meal rather than anything
“Special”. It is also a good people-watching restaurant –
lots of comings and goings. Follow directions to Con Pou
and Strada is just 100 metres
further down the road on the right hand side.
Tossa de Mar - Further afield
I would recommend Tossa de Mar where you’ll
find several great restaurants on the seafront.
The closest supermarket is on the outskirts of Vidreres – follow the main road into Vidreres and turn left at the main roundabout. The
supermarket is on your right next to the dairy.
Larger supermarkets are located in Lloret
de Mar. The Caprabo is found by taking the road to Lloret. Where the road splits into two (the left branch
goes over a bridge and takes you towards Lloret)
take the right branch towards Blanes. After about
150 metres you will see the Caprabo
on your right (by the first set of traffic lights).
Transportation
The villa is located in a quiet area approximately 10km inland from Lloret de Mar. It is served by a bus service from Lloret de Mar and Vidreres but
to best enjoy the region and travel further afield
we suggest you consider renting a car during your stay. Car rental companies
can be found at the airports (Barcelona
is served by Europcar, Avis & Hertz and Girona is served by Europcar
and Hertz amongst other) and in major towns (Lloret
has a number of car rental companies).
There is a frequent train service from Sils (near
Vidreres) to Barcelona
and Gerona. Barcelona is one hour away and the train arrives at Sants main station in Barcelona.
Boats run from Lloret de Mar up and down the
coast. This is not only a pleasant way to see the beautiful coastline but
also saves the trouble of finding parking in Tossa
de Mar.
‘Trains’ in Lloret de Mar
– not trains at all, but tourist trips at a leisurely pace. One train
heads towards Fenals and lasts around 30 minutes,
going past the Disaster Café on route. The other goes inland to an old Roman
Camp where the views are great (the Camp isn’t overwhelming but the
views are worth it). Parking in Lloret de Mar
House Details
Public Park - The complex also has a park area encompassing a large
swimming pool, football pitch and basketball & tennis courts which can be
found by turning left at the “old tree” roundabout as you enter
the complex. The amenities are hard to see from the road but are on your left
by a green fence approx 100 metres after the
roundabout.
Shutters - Pulling the cords by the door/windows opens
these. Sometimes the shutter may be stuck – it may be due to the
locking pins on the base of the shutter having slid out into the frame. If
so, just slide them inwards on the shutter and ease
up. To close the shutters, pull the cord and allow to slide
down. Please close all shutters on your final exit.
Doors/Windows - The windows in the bathrooms can be opened so
that they “drop in” or alternatively on a side hinge. The
position of the handle determines this. Pulling the handle downwards locks
the kitchen door.
